Building cybersecurity programs across government and Fortune 500 companies taught Carraig one thing: most technology vendors weren’t really interested in understanding what his teams truly needed. They offered cookie-cutter solutions and disappeared after the contract was signed.
Five years ago, while helping build H&R Block’s security program, that frustration led him to 3 Tree Tech. Instead of the usual sales pitch, he found people who took time to understand his challenges and genuinely wanted to help solve them. They introduced innovative solutions that worked and built relationships that lasted beyond any single project. He found that 3 Tree Tech embodied their mission to “empower leaders”.
After working with 3 Tree Tech first as a customer, then as an executive advisor, Carraig saw something different. These weren’t typical vendors. Here was a channel partner that wasn’t technically a value-added reseller and yet provided more value than most VARs. When the opportunity came to lead this team, he knew he’d found people who shared his belief that technology partnerships should be about more than transactions.
That belief in doing right by people runs throughout everything Carraig does. He and his wife Amber have a hobby farm southeast of Kansas City with their six children, three of whom are adopted. The same values that guide their family decisions (doing right by people, supporting the underdog, building authentic relationships) drive his vision for changing how the technology industry works.
